piCture pOlish Friday - Watermelon + Glitter Polka Dots!

 Press Sample
Hey there!

Today is a special day...not only is it piCture pOlish Friday, but it's graduation day! I FINALLY get to celebrate my hard work at ASU and I couldn't be more ready to get my diploma =]! Naturally, I did some fun graduation nails; I'll share them with you guys in the next couple days along with a few grad photos =]!

Anywho, next up in my piCture pOlish Friday series is a stunner named Watermelon. This bright coral leaning pink wasn't my favorite at first...that is, until I decided to wear it. I fell in LOVE! This shade is so girly and fun, I couldn't get enough of it! In the bottle, it has a subtle shimmer, but on the nail is looks like a neon crème. My pictures dulled the color a little bit, so keep in mind that it is a little brighter and more intense in person.

Lovely,  no? I pumped up the awesome factor a bit with the addition of some simple and cute glitter polka dots using Essie Beyond Cozy. Check it out!

I love how this turned out, I got so many compliments on the color and Kate Spade-esque look of it! Sometimes simple nail art does the trick!

Have an amazing day =]!

Lindsey

piCture pOlish Friday - Honey Dew + Lace Accent!

 Press Sample
Hey friends!

I have a SINGLE FINAL until I'm home free...graduation is a week from today and I couldn't be more ready! Again, thank you all for your patience and continued support throughout this sporadic posting season. I love you guys =]!

Today, I'm kicking off a fun little series called piCture pOlish Friday! Each Friday, you can expect to see a new piCture pOlish shade featured on the blog along with a touch of nail art. This week, we begin with a polish I've been obsessed with ever since I first laid eyes on it...Honey Dew! I'm wearing 3 coats for fully opacity, but 2 careful coats would also do the trick. Take a looksie!

This is NOT your average minty green...this baby is turned up an extra notch on the brightness scale! I'd describe it as a bright wintergreen crème. I absolutely adore the color and the application was incredible (most picture pOlishes seem to apply beautifully, I've found). The formula was the perfect consistency for an easy, clean mani! I'm obsessed and I know I'll be wearing Honey Dew quite often now =]!

I decided to add a lacey accent nail (Chantilly lace, to be exact...that one's for you, Melissa ;]!) with Zoya Purity and a little patience. I like how it turned out =]!

Ta da! What a great way to kick off this fun weekly series =]!

I hope you have a fabulous day, friends!

♥,
Lindsey

Glitter Border Mani!

Hey friends!

I'm still alive and kickin', I promise! Just a couple weeks until graduation (please, hold your applause =]) and then I'm hoping to have a life again. Until then, thank you all for your faithfulness, well wishes, and awesomeness during my sporadic posts! I love you all so much =]!

Today, I have a pretty creation that I wore a couple weeks ago. I used Essie Bikini So Teeny and Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream in this sparkly blue-green border mani. I freehanded this look with an itty bitty brush of mine...it took some patience, but with the right tools it isn't incredibly difficult. Take a look =]!

Cute, no =]? I did a mani with a similar color combo last April, I guess its beginning to turn into a tradition of sorts =P!

Have a fabulous day =]!

Lindsey

Mario Badescu Hand Care Product Review!

 Press Sample

Hey there!

Happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a great start =] Today, I have a small but mighty review of some hand and cuticle care products courtesy of the folks from Mario Badescu. You'll have to excuse the lack of photos on my part...there wasn't too much I could show you guys...unless you want to watch me rub lotion into my hands =P! Let's get going!

First up, the Cuticle Cream. This was more of a gel than a cream or a lotion, but it sure hydrates the heck out of beat up cuticles! I used this consistently for a week or two and I definitely noticed a change in my nail strength and cuticle health. The smell is light; it's slightly floral, but it doesn't last forever on your hands. I'd highly recommend giving it a shot! A .5 oz tub will run you an affordable $10.00. I can guarantee that it will last you a long time...a little goes a long way!

Next, I tried the Special Hand Cream with Vitamin E. You don't need a huge amount of this thick cream to feel it's effects, just a dab should be enough for both of your hands. I wasn't too fond of the smell of this one...it has a strong floral/perfumey scent that did last a while on my hands. With my sensitive nose, I usually prefer light scents when it comes to my lotion. It was extremely hydrating, but a tad greasy for me. Those of you needing some serious hydration would benefit from Special Hand Cream immensely! It costs $8.00 for 4 oz. or $14.00 for 8 oz.

The Hydrating Hand Cream is my absolute favorite of the bunch! This super hydrating, non-greasy, lightly scented wonder worked a miracle on my dry hands! I used the entire sample within the first week or two that I had it...and I'm seriously considering grabbing more soon. I've tried a LOT of different hand product, and this joins the ranks of my favorites! It costs $10.00 for 4 oz., and I'd happily pay that price for this incredible product. LOVE!

Lastly, I tried the Elasto-Seamollient Hand Cream. I'm torn on this one because although the smell and results are great, it's a little greasy when you first apply it and I'm not a fan of that. It seems to soak in pretty quickly, but those first couple minutes of grease aren't fun to me, haha =P This cream is good for repairing dry and damaged skin because of the emollients.  It will run you either $8.00 for 4 oz. or $14.00 for 8 oz., it may be worth a try for those of you needing some extra TLC =]!

There you have it, friends! If you are interested in trying any of these products yourself, they are available via their website and also at Ulta. Go like them on Facebook to be in the know ;)!

Have a stupendous day =]!

♥,
Lindsey

KBShimmer Spring 2013 Collection Swatches + Review!

 Press Sample

Hey there, beauties!

Happy Friday to you all! I hope you have some uber fun things on the agenda for this weekend. I'll be working mostly...but I'm also getting excited for graduation! It's only about a month away, folks! EEEEEEK =]!

Today, I have some long overdue swatches of some pretties from the KBShimmer Spring Collection. Ever since these were sent to me, they've been sitting near my desk, staring me in the face with their gorgeousness! With each of these swatches, I used the KBShimmer Clearly On Top 2-Free Quick Dry Topcoat to seal in each polish and add shine. Now, on to the swatches!

Iris My Case
2 coats
If butterflies, spring time, femininity, cotton candy, and all things adorable in the world were blended together into a nail polish...this would be it! This pastel purple crelly contains the perfect amount of blue, pink, purple, and white glitter for my taste. In 2 coats, it was opaque and absolutely lovely!

A Dot Mess
1 coat over Kiko 292
Rooooound glitter ahoy! This is my first round glitter polish and I'm digging it! This one in particular was great because it didn't require very much fishing for the larger glitters. Also, the combo of magenta and black is to die for! L-O-V-E!

Squared Away
1 coat over Essie Where's My Chauffeur?
I've always been a lover of square glitter, and this is no exception. Just LOOK at the colors! Holo, blue, silver, purple, aqua, and fuschia?! Amazing! You'll have to fish around for the larger glitter pieces, but the pay off is so worth it! I especially love this polish over my aqua blue base. With one coat, Squared Away turned a basic mani into something incredible!

We can all agree upon the beauty of these polishes, but some of the magic lies in what you can't see...the topcoat! The Clearly On Top Topcoat worked like a dream! It's similar to Seche Vite in drying speed and shine, which is awesome...I know how many of you are diehard Seche fans! The only complaint I have is the smell...it's a tad strong for what I'm used to. Once it dries, the smell goes away, but I had to limit my exposure a bit while using it. Still, it's a quality topcoat that you wouldn't regret trying for yourself =]!

That's a wrap, guys! Take a looksie at KBShimmer's site for purchase info and more amazing products. Also, like KBShimmer on Facebook while you're at it!

Have a fabulous day!

♥,
Lindsey
