I was lucky enough to win a fabulous giveaway a little while ago hosted by the lovely Aly of No Junk Nail (thank you again, Miss Aly =]!) and she sent me 2 awesome polishes...one of which was my very first matte top coat ever, Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love! I was so anxious to try this that I just had to swatch it over the current color I was wearing, Love & Beauty Purple Cosmos (which you guys saw yesterday). I think it makes this pretty purple look differently pretty...take a look!
It looks all Fallish and smokey =]
I was weird, but it took away the holoness of the micro glitters...it made them seem more silvery.
Well that was fun! Like I said, this was my first experience with a matte top coat- it won't be my last! Any good color suggestions to mattify? I've heard that glitters and flakies look great =] What are your thoughts?
Another pretty swatch today of an untried in my collection, Love & Beauty Purple Cosmos. I'll be honest, the only way I knew the name of this one was finding it on the Forever 21 website...on the bottle all it says is "purple/multi" near the bar code =P Whatever the name is, this is a super pretty deep purple polish that I -think- might be a jelly. I always doubt my jelly-spotting abilities, but maybe some of you could back me up on this one =P? Check out the pictures!
I can't believe I never tried this one before...it's WAY prettier than I expected!
Yeah...my camera didn't want to focus for this one, but you can see the holo micro-sparklies nicely =]
Ta daaaa! I will definitely be using this again soon...I'm thinking pedicure =D I hope you guys enjoyed it as well =]! See ya sooooon!
<3,
Lindsey
P.S.- The Weekly Nail Art Challenge is being pushed back a bit because I'm actually out of town again. I promise, you'll see it this weekend =]!
Just a quick and simple swatch for you guys today...an oldie but a good- OPI Catch Me In Your Net! This used to be my most wanted polish EVER...until that freaking amazing day where I walked into that little salon and found this brand new bottle calling my name =D This color is absolutely gorgeous and I am SO happy to own it. It's definitely in my top 10 favorites =]! Hey...maybe that would make for a really fun swatching spree, my top ten favorites...if you think I should do it, give me a "whoop whoop" in the comments =P On to the pictures!
It's a tad more greenish in some lights...but it decided to be mainly blue in my pictures =P
There you have it, a beautiful sparkly blue-green that I simply can't live without =P! I hope your Monday is absolutely lovely =]!
Wanna hear something sad? Before yesterday, I didn't own ANY flakies (or Essie's!). None. Zero. Zilch. Nada one =[ Hoooowever...I went to Ulta while Black Friday shopping and I came across Essie Shine of the Times from the brand new Luxeffects Collection- hooray! My very first flakie and I think I'm in LOVE! Wanna see why? Check out these pictures of it layered over Dr.'s Remedy NOBLE Navy!
I felt like bottle shots were necessary for this post =]
These flakies are an orange-copper color in most light, but you can also see green and yellow sometimes =]
Oooooh pretty...
You can see the green really well in this one!
Have I convinced you to buy this yet =P? I think a flakie spree is coming my way cause I NEED more of these...I just wish my wallet could keep up. I hope your weekend is going nicely and you all got some much needed rest =]! Til next time =]

Lindsey

I was feeling very colorful the other day and decided to to a gradient mani using colors from peacock feathers- specifically Zoya Ivanka, OPI Catch Me In Your Net, and Zoya Mimi. As pretty as this mani was, it didn't last long on me because I ran out of my favorite top coat, Nubar Diamont, and it smudged =[ I was able to keep 4 of my fingers nice, though, so I took pictures of those =D No thumb pictures though, that one got REALLY messed up haha! Take a look!
These colors are so pretty...I know Zoya Charla is a dupe for OPI Catch Me In Your Net, and considering Ivanka, Mimi, and Charla are all a part of the same Zoya collection (Sparkle), these colors and finishes go PERFECTLY together! Maybe I'll attempt to paint an actual peacock feather on my nails with these someday =] I'm sad this mani didn't last longer than it did, but I'll just have to do it again some time =]!
Happy Black Friday, by the way! Did anyone get any freaking amazing deals =]? Any good Black Friday stories to tell =P?

P.S.- The poll for my Weekly Nail Art Challenge is up....go vote at the top right side bar =]!
I missed you guuuuys! My trip was super fun...but things have been really crazy now that I've been back...so I apologize for my small hiatus. You know how it is, professors always assign a bunch of huge assignments before Thanksgiving...so that's where I've been =P I finally got the time for my Weekly Nail Art Challenge and this week's theme was melting. I hope you like my interpretation of this, I decided to go with a drip mani! This is my first time doing one and I think it looks pretty good...check it out =]!
I tried to make it look like they were dripping into a puddle on my thumb...haha =P
I thought you would enjoy a pretty picture of the castle =] It's all decorated for Christmas =D
I hope you liked the WNAC this week =]! I'll have a new poll up shortly...so be sure to vote! And by the way....HAPPY THANKSGIVING =]! I'm so thankful for all of my awesome followers, I hope you eat a ton and have happy tummies today =]!

Yuuup, still on my little vacation to the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH =D! I hope you are enjoying these lovely guest posts =]! Today, we have Liz from Nothing But Nail Polish and she has a beautiful China Glaze holiday combo for you guys. Take it away, Liz!
This is one of China Glazes holiday sets and I love it!!!
I received this as a Secret Santa gift WAY before Christmas but I couldn't wait to open it...lol. I'm so glad I did though. There was also a cute little snow globe in the set too.
Blue Years Eve is a shimmering blue polish and Snow globe is a clear based glitter polish.
These 2 go perfectly together.
As you can tell I used Snow Globe as accent nail
Look at all the shine in the sun
A close up of Snow Globe
This was taken in the shade and it looks AMAZING!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture
Bottle to nail
And this was taken inside
There you have it! Thank you, Miss Liz, for this awesome guest post =] Feel free to visit her blog by clicking here! Have a great day, everyone =]!
As I mentioned yesterday, I'm out of town for a few days so I've recruited a few lovely ladies to do some guest posts for me. This first one is from Caitlin of Caitlin's Creative Corner, and I think she did a fabulous job! Here is her post...show her some loooove =]!
This is my first guest post ever! I hope you all enjoy it!
What do you get when you mix this...
And this...
How about a beautiful mixture of colors that go well together. Just see for yourself.
I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors Seaweed as the base, and Borghese Palermo Plum as the accent color for the stamp (and the nail swatch above).
I absolutely love my stamper, and I thought this came out just beautiful.
I'm outta here for the weekend so I've set up a few lovely guest posts for the next couple days, please enjoy them and say nice things =D Where am I going you might ask....well none other than....
THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH, DISNEYLAAAAAAND =D!!!!!
I'll be checking in every now and again....so no funny business =P! I'll be back on Monday =] Have a great weekend =]!
Happy Wednesday to you all! Hopefully your week is going a tad better than mine...I am absolutely BURIED in homework and my car isn't starting, I think the battery is dead. HOOOOOWEVER I have a cute new mani, so life is good =]! I saw an awesome post on one of my favorite blogs ever, Rebecca Likes Nails, the other day about a new technique- watercolor nails! You can see Miss Rebecca's fabulous tutorial here. Basically you dot a few drops of a color over your base color and use a big, fluffy brush (at least by nail art brush standards...nothings -too- big) dipped in acetone to swirl it around. I gave it a shot and I really like how it turned out. It's a bit different than Rebecca's outcome, but I still think its cool! Check it out!
I used OPI Alpine Snow for the base and then "watercolored" with GOSH Blue Balloon, Essence Bella, OPI Planks A Lot, and OPI Pink Flamenco
I hope you like this new technique, it's super easy and fun to do =]! It's sort of fool proof, there is NO wrong way to do it =]! The only problem I had was on a few nails, I spread the polish too thin and I started to see my actual nail...easily fixed with another drop of polish lightly swirled around =]! If you've tried this, let me know how yours turned out =]!
Its time for my Weekly Nail Art Challenge and you guys picked a SUPER adorable theme this week- Tiffany! What girl doesn't love Tiffany? I don't have any of my own (yeeeeeet!)...but for my mom's birthday, I got her this super cute bracelet...
I love this bracelet so much, so yes, it made it into my Tiffany mani =P Anyway, I hope you like this WNAC =] Take a looksie!
The middle nail was inspired by my mom's bracelet =D
I felt it was appropriate to put the diamond ring on my ring finger =P
Yay! Now all I need is some Tiffany jewelry to go with it...*ahem Brandon, Mom, and other loved ones* =P Haha =] Have a beautiful day =]!

Lindsey

I have some rainbows for you today, I've swatched Glitter Gal Copper 3D Holo =D This was my very first experience with Glitter Gal and I'm sure it won't be my last! The name is slightly deceiving as this is more of a rosey color than copper in my book, but it's pretty nonetheless =] I didn't do any fancy nail art or anything, I thought the color spoke loud enough on its own. This lovely color was provided to me by the amazing Leah Ann of Llarowe. She has a fabulous website that offers Glitter Gal, HITS, Ozotic, A England, and more to the US ladies that normally have trouble accessing them. Go check out her website by clicking here. Now, check out the pictures!
First I took a pic in the light box so you could get a good idea of the color...this is 3 coats btw...
Then I went nuts and ditched the light box to show you some holo action =D
So pretty...don't you just love rainbows =]?
This was such a beautiful polish! I was expecting the application to be a little tricky since holos seem to run a bit thin sometimes, but this one was great and I didn't have any problems with dragging or bald spots. I wasn't sure how I'd like this color on my skin tone, but it turned out really pretty and it was a pleasant surprise =] Once again, thanks to Miss Leah Ann of Llarowe for sending me this beauty! Have a stupendous day, ladies and gents!

I hope your weekend has been absolutely amazing! Today I have swatches from the new holiday collection from Dr.'s Remedy- Jolly & Joy Holiday 2011. This collection consists of 5 new and BEAUTIFUL colors that are perfect for this holiday season- 3 shimmers and 2 glitters. Let's get on to these swatches, I know you guys will LOVE them =]
This first one is appropriately named ESSENTIAL Emerald. I used 2 coats for this swatch, although I might have been able to get away with one if I was careful, it's really opaque! I would describe it as an extremely pretty minty-emerald with a hint of shimmer. I don't own any greens like this one, but I wonder is OPI Jade is the New Black could be a dupe? I think this one is a little brighter and minty-colored than JITNB, but either way, I am LOVING it!
Next, we have PASSION Purple, a berry-like purple with a slight silvery shimmer. I used 2 coats and got perfect coverage; this one is also pretty opaque. If you are a purple fan, I think this color is right up your alley =]! The shimmer is very soft, but you can definitely see it in the right light.
There's that shimmer coming out to play =]! Flash used!
Here we have 2 coats of a nice Christmassy red with shimmer called REVIVE Ruby Red. Dr.'s Remedy says this is a Wizard of Oz inspired red, how fun! If it was just a bit more sparkly, it would be just like Dorthy's ruby red slippers =] In my swatch, you can see more brush strokes than normal because I believe I have a wonky brush...Dr.'s Remedy brushes are normally just fine, but this one was extra thin for some reason. I bet I just got an uh-oh brush, so no biggie =P
Flash used!
The first of the two glitters is called RESOLUTION Red Glitter, although I don't think its a red glitter at all =P! It seems like more of a pale, rosey pink glitter with a few red glitters mixed in. Nonetheless, this is a super pretty and opaque glitter, I only needed 2 coats. Like any glitter, there was a gritty feel without a top coat, but that doesn't bother me much. This color is really nice! Btw...Please excuse the slight messiness with the glitter swatches...you guys know how it is when you use and take off glitters...it gets EVERYWHERE =P
With flash, you can see the color the best =]
I saved my favorite for last, 2 coats of SERENE Silver Glitter. This is a unique silver glitter because it has red and silver micro glitters all mixed in, but it seems to be tinted blue! I LOVE this one! Its kind of like a party in a bottle =P There are no more words...just look...
OOOOOHHHHHHH! Make this one bigger =]! Flash used!
Final Verdict- Dr.'s Remedy has made an AMAZING holiday collection! I think this is my favorite collection of theirs yet. I can totally see myself wearing these come closer to the holidays! As always, the formulas are great. The colors are opaque, gorgeous, and some are like nothing I've ever seen before. You can purchase the glitters for $14 and the shimmers for $17 at www.remedynails.com. Also, be sure to like their Facebook page here.
Have a great day =]!
