Zig-Zag Nails!

Hello!

Does anyone else feel like this week is COMPLETELY off? I keep thinking it's Tuesday...having Monday off really messed up my internal calender, haha =P I've sort of been dreading today as it's the first day of my summer classes, but at the same time, I'm REALLY excited because I'm taking sign language! I know teeny bit from working with kids (sometimes special needs children or very young children use sign language to communicate, it's pretty cool =]!), but I've always wanted to know more and I finally have a chance to do it....for school credit, even better =P! Today's mani is a simple yet pretty zig-zag mani using SinfulColors Sweet Dreams and Bettina Celebration. Take a look!

I posted a preview of these nails on Instagram the other day...if you want to keep up with my nails and other life adventures (as random as they might be =P), follow me @neverlandnailblog!

Have an awesome day =]!

Black, White, and Bright Hodge-Podge!

Hey there!

A few weeks ago, I posted this fun hodge-podge mani of random patterns and shapes...today, I bring you round deux, this time with black and white! I used Wet N Wild Black Creme, SinfulColors Snow Me White, Zoya Dita, and POP Beauty Turquoise. It took me a little more time than normal to do these nails, but TOTALLY worth it in my opinion! I hope you like them too...take a look!

I think my favorite was my pinky...I'll definitely be doing a full mani similar to it very soon. I'm open to ideas for future color combos so let me know if you have any suggestions =]!

Have a great day =]!

Subtle Ruffian Mani!

Hey there!

Happy Memorial Day!

Today, we honor to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Although I consider myself to be very patriotic, my epic red and blue water marble didn't turn out at planned (you did NOT want to see that mess!). So, I have a completely unrelated ruffian mani using OPI Planks A Lot (2 coats) and Zoya Carey (2 coats)... I hope you don't mind =P! Check out these subtle and sweet nails!

Please excuse the excess cuticle oil...I thought I had rubbed it all in, but I guess I didn't =P Since both of these polishes are sort of smokey, the colors worked fabulously together! I love a nice, clean mani from time to time to cleanse the palette =]!

Have a great Memorial Day!

Great Gradient Friday!

Hey there!

Its time for another one of those big group themed days, and this time we did some seriously awesome gradient manis! I decided to create mine using some colors inspired by the beautiful Arizona sunsets I see each evening...Zoya Arizona (how appropriate =]!), Zoya Shelby, China Glaze Lemon Fizz, and Soulstice Provence. I also decided to play with the angles this time; instead of a horizontal gradient, I tilted it from left to right. The result was very pretty, take a look =]!

It's like little sunsets on my nails =]! I love when I think of an idea or color combo and it works better than I planned, haha. Now, don't forget to check out the rest of these awesome manis from my blogger (and some non-blogger) buddies =]!

Have a fabulous day!

Domino Mani!

Well hello, there!

A lovely group I'm a part of likes to have weekly mani themes and last week's theme just so happened to be black and white. I've never really done a strictly black and white mani, so I was having a little trouble coming up with an idea. And then, it hit me like a falling line of dominoes...a domino mani =D! I used Wet N Wild Black Creme and Petites French White to create this mani. It came out SO adorable and I think you'll agree...see for yourself =]!

I'm such a dork, when I wore these nails I kept trying to click my fingers together like they were toppling over =P On a different note, I'm actually starting to love my shorties! Once the sides catch up and I have square nails again, I think I'll be keeping them short from now on. It's so much easier to do things and they don't break as easy =P

Have a great day and I'll see you soon =]!

Cute Birdie Mani!

Hi =]!

I'll say right now, this birdie-sitting-in-a-tree mani didn't turn out exactly as I wanted...I'm SO jealous of you girls who can create incredible realistic and accurate nail art (I'm looking at YOU, Amber Did It! and Sonoma Nail Art =P). I don't think I'm too horrid at painting, but my stuff always comes out looking cartoonish, cutesy, and basic. It's ok, I guess that's kind of my style =]! If you follow me on Instagram (@neverlandnailblog), you saw a preview of this mani the other day. I used Essie She's Picture Perfect, Essie Armed and Ready, Wet N Wild Black Creme, China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, and Zoya Shelby. Hopefully it isn't TOO laughable...take a look =P!

Well, it's not like I hoped it would be, but it certainly has the cute factor going for it =P!

Have a great day =]!

Zoya Summer Chevron Mani!

Hey there!

I hope your week is off to a great start =]! I'm starting to get busy with work, school (summer courses...woo hoo -_-), and getting into shape again so I've been getting pretty worn out with everything. Thank goodness for hobbies like blogging and nails that keep me sane =]! Today, I used three of the Zoya Summer shades, Zoya Meg, Zoya Shelby, and Zoya Arizona, to create a fun chevron mani. If you follow along with the happenings on my Facebook page, you'll remember that I busted my nails up pretty bad over the weekend =[ So, sadly, I'm sporting some rounded shorties for the time being. They aren't so bad really, I actually love short nails! I'm mainly bummed that I had to round them...I don't like that shape on me very much (although some of you girlies can ROCK them!). Anywho, take a look at my shortie chevrons =]!

This design was fairly simple to do...I'm not entirely sure how other people do it, but I freehanded the chevrons and centered them by placing an itty bitty dot for aim (I put the dot where I wanted the center of the chevron to be on my nail and connected the lines to that). I loved this look, but as you can tell, it did get a little thick towards the tips. I must have had a heavy hand on the brush, haha =P Still, I hope you like it and maybe even try this look for yourself =]!

Lindsey

Pink Ombre Dot Mani!

Hi!

I hope you've been have a splendid Saturday! I have, I was able to grab a Windestine polish I've been lemming earlier (it was Jeweled Sand if you were wondering). You can bet I'll be putting it on ASAP when I get it =]! Today, I have a girly ombre dot mani with China Glaze Lemon Fizz, Zoya Dita, Zoya Lara, and Zoya Shelby. I've done a mani similar to this before using blue and grey and I liked how it came out; this time, I needed some cute summer colors =]! I hope you like it...take a look!

Aside from a little smearing, these nails were perfect for some fun in the sun =]! I've never been much of a yellow lover....but I'm starting to convert =P! I can thank Brandon for that one; he always insists I wear the brightest, most obnoxious, highlighter yellow (For the record, I don't own any polish like that. I only have 2 yellows in my collection!). Anywho...you might be seeing more yellow here and there in my posts. You'll know for sure if I've been fully converted when I choose to wear yellow without adding blue or pink to it =P!

Have an amazing weekend =]!

Lindsey

Grunge Nails!

Hello!

While in search of new techniques to try, I remembered my buddy Jamie from Nails Adored (who also designed my awesome blog layout...I love this girl =]!) recently created the grunge mani and I figured it was time to try it! I used her tutorial, but I made a different overall look than she did...her nails were brighter and more colorful than mine, and I also made a different and more linear pattern. I think mine sort of look like ripped jeans =P! I used a bunch of bluish-greenish polishes; Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream, Zoya Crystal, Bettina Aqua, Essie Mint Candy Apple, and Dr.'s Remedy NOBLE Navy. Lookie!

This look is so unique and cool! I'll have to give this a try again with a Peacock color scheme so they look like feathers =]! Have any of you tried this before? If so, I'd love to see your pictures! Show them to me on my Facebook page =]!

Have a great day!

Bright Water Marble!

Hey =]!

I've been water marbling a lot recently and I think I'm slowly getting better at it =]! Today, I have a one to show you with China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, Zoya Lara, and GOSH Blue Balloon. I love how bright it is, I think these are some great summer colors! I also think that water marbling is the perfect technique for summer, considering this is swimming and beach season...get it...water marble...water....yeah. Just look at my nails =P

I think my middle and ring finger came out the best, but the overall mani looks pretty good too =]! Hooray for not messing this up big time =P! I used to be TERRIBLE at water marbling, so it's cool to see that I'm improving.

Stay tuned for some special things coming within the next couple weeks...you won't want to miss out =]!

Born Pretty Store CK-02 Stamping Plate Review!

Hey there!

Today I have another review from Born Pretty Store today. This time, I checked out one of their fun stamping plates, CK-02. Now, I won't lie, I expected this plate and it's imaged to be a little larger, but if you're creative, you can make some awesome stamped manis with it =]! There are a lot of different images, so instead of stamping all of them, I picked several of my favorites to show you in two manis I did. Take a look at my pics!

Like I mentioned, the images are pretty small and won't cover your whole nail. This is an example of the smaller-sized images on the plate (it'll cover about 3/4ths your nail unless they're really teeny).

So, instead of working with full images, I used bits and pieces in these 2 manis...check them out =]!

OPI Orge The Top Blue, China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, and L.A. Colors Silver Glitter Striper

Bettina Secret Garden, Essence Dress For A Moment, and Bettina Celebration

Ta da =]! I really like this plate (aside from the small images, that's a slight bummer), there is a lot of variety and it's cut deep enough that it's really easy to pick up the polish from the plate. I really need to practice my stamping skills, and now I have a fun new plate to do that with =]!

You can purchase this plate from Born Pretty Store here!

Heartbeat Mani and A Special Announcement!

Hi =]!

I hope you had a fabulous Mother's Day! Today, I decided to try a heartbeat mani using Zoya Carey, Kiko 292, Kiko 389, and Wet N Wild Black Creme. I'm not the first to try this nail art (I've seen a TON of different variations!) but this was my first attempt and I LOOOOVED it! It was a little tricky to keep the lines moving fluidly from nail to nail, but other than that it was pretty easy. See for yourself!

I rotated this one because it didn't seem to make sense upside-down =P

What do you think? This would totally be a perfect mani for Valentine's Day or an Anniversary, you should give it a shot =]!

And now...on to my announcement. This year, I have the pleasure of attending Cosmoprof North America 2012 =D!!!! We have created all different types of splatter manis for your viewing pleasure...you name it, we did it! For my take on a splatter mani, I used 3 coats of Zoya Kristen as the base and splattered China Glaze DV8 and OPI DS Glamour on top. A buddy of mine said it "looks like a holo crime scene" and she is correct =P! You gotta see this!

I always forget how much I like splatter manis! They're so fun and fairly easy to do! Check out this tutorial by The Polishaholic to learn how to create one yourself =]! Now, if you don't want this splatter fun to end, be sure to check out the other Splatterday manis below!

Born Pretty Store Bow Sticker Review!

Why, hello there!

I hope you're having a fabulous day, doing whatever you are doing! I'm sort of busy today so I'm just trying to hang in there...you know how that is =P! Today, I have another review of some adorable bow stickers from Born Pretty Store. You all know how much I looooove bows =]! These things are so stinking cute! Check out this product picture directly from Born Pretty Store...

Now, on to my pictures! I used 3 coats of Zoya Carey topped with 1 coat of OPI I Juggle...Men. Just a side note...as I was layering those 2 polishes I thought to myself, "WOW! This combo is gorgeous on it's own! Why don't I wear IJM more often?!" Well, fast forward about 5 minutes and I remembered why -_- For some reason, my bottle of IJM is super thick, goopy, doesn't dry fast, and when it finally does dry, it shrinks! UGH. Not cool! You'll probably see some evidence of shrinkage and goopyness in my pictures, I apologize for that =/ Hoooowever, these stickers are awesome, so take a look!

Say it with me....awwwwww! These are so frilly and girly, they're perfect for me =D I had a little trouble with them lifting at the edges, but I blame stupid IJM for that, not the stickers. I really love the look of these and you can bet you'll be seeing them again before too much longer =]!

Shooting Star Mani Reeemix!

Hey there!

You guys seemed to really like my purple shooting star mani I did a couple weeks ago (and I loved it, too =]), so today I have a remixed version [insert record scratching sounds here] to show you =]! This time, I placed the shooting stars along the edge of my nails so it gives a french tip vibe, its super cute! I used Wet N Wild Black Creme, The Painted Nail by Nubar Riot, and the star glitter pieces from Disney Villains 5 for these nails. I had to take my pictures at a little different angle than normal because of the direction I placed the shooting stars, so don't let that throw you off =P! Check it out!

What do you think of this version? I may like it more than the first! I was sad I couldn't photograph the stars very well, they were all holo-y and pretty =/ I guess you'll just have to take my word for it =]!

See ya soon =]!

Born Pretty Store HK Stickers Review!

Hi!

A few weeks back, Born Pretty Store graciously asked me to review a few of their products, and today I have the first of 3 products to show you =]! I was sent a fun pack of Hello Kitty Nail Stickers in fun, summery colors. You'll see that I wore them over  2 coats of Zoya Rory, take a look at this cuteness =]!!!

Here is a picture of all the stickers courtesy of Born Pretty Store =]

Aren't these just adorable? I love the touch of glitter and bright colors these come in =] They were quite easy to use, I just stuck them to my semi-dry polish and put a nice, thick top coat over them. I didn't experience much lifting; as long as you apply them with care, they should last about the same amount of time as your polish.

To purchase these super awesome HK stickers, click here!

See ya later =]!
